Dan Nathan – Paralland

Dan Nathan is an award winning film-maker and photographer who is based in London.

For Paralland, he travelled to two separate locations – the Sahara Desert and the border between Arizona and Utah, USA. The resulting images have purposely been drawn together and juxtaposed for this unique series of graphic, monochromatic compositions.

Unifying the images are the core themes of Time and Erosion, which have melded and shaped the terrain, drawing parallels between these two extreme and distant locations.

The shifting nature of the desert sand and sandstone rock is a reminder that nothing is permanent. The striations and contours of both, although half a world apart, have a textural quality that nature has wrought over time.
